BELLEVILLE, IL – The Bethel Wildcats won their third straight and ran their record to 4-2 with a road win at Lindenwood-Belleville Saturday. The Cats beat the Lynx 81-59. Lindenwood fell to 0-3. Bethel is 2-0 all-time versus the Lynx.
Five Bethel players finished in double figures. The Wildcats were led in scoring by Javonte Ellis with 16 points. Noah Chatman followed with 11. Cayden Edmonson, Cameron Ricks and Myron McKinney each scored ten points. Brenden Gilliam led the Lynx with 15 points.
Bethel shot 53 percent connecting on 33-of -62 attempts from the floor. They had six three's and were 9-of-16 from the free throw line. The Cats had a 40-34 advantage in rebounds.
Coach Jeff Britt was pleased with his team's effort and execution. "I'm glad to see our men continue to play hard and execute, especially on the road. The Freed game was hard and it is not easy to go on the road and win, so we are very pleased with the result."
The Wildcats are back in action Thursday traveling to Loyola for an early season SSAC Match-up. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. in the Den.
