Mobile, Tenn. – The No. 7 Bethel Wildcats suffered just their second loss of the season Saturday afternoon, falling to the No. 11 Mobile Rams 3-2 in two overtimes. Bethel dropped to 7-2-2 and 0-1-1 while Mobile moved to 10-1 and 2-0. The Wildcat loss evened the series between the two programs at 4-4. Mobile remains unbeaten at home at 7-0.
It appeared the Wildcats were on the verge of the road win with a 2-1 second period lead but Mobile scored late in the match to send the game to extra periods. Goals by Mohungsi and Silvio Xavier had given the Cats the edge but the Rams would eventually win on a goal by Victor Pimentel with 1:28 left in the second overtime.
Bethel had a 17-13 advantage in shots but Mobile had a 7-4 margin in shots on goal. Luis Borja recorded four saves for Bethel.
The Wildcats are back in action next Saturday traveling to Martin Methodist. It will be the 23rd meeting between the two programs with Bethel holding a 13-7-2 advantage.
