NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats moved to 9-9 on the season with a 3-0 sweep of Loyola Friday night in New Orleans. More importantly the Cats ran their SSAC record to 4-1. Loyola dropped to 10-11 and 4-2. Bethel leads the all-time series 13-1. The win was career victory No. 250 for Coach Starla Cupples.
Bethel won 25-23, 25-19 and 25-22.
Leading the charge for the Lady Wildcats was Katelyn Van Hooser with 16 assists and 11 digs. Hannah McGowan had 11 kills and 13 digs. Arielly de Souza had 16 digs and Maggie Brooks had 19 assists.
Bethel resumes action on the road trip at Mobile Saturday. The Rams lead the all-time series 9-4. Action begins at 1 p.m.
