MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats saluted their seniors in grand style with a dominating 4- 0 victory over visiting Brewton-Parker Saturday. Bethel moved to 9-4-1 overall and 4-2 in league play. BPU dropped to 4-10-1 and 0-5-1. Bethel leads the series between the two programs at 6-0.
Senior ceremonies took place at the break with seniors, Chantell Lawson, Janine Dennis, Giovanna Ledesma, Cara Cook, Danijela Kolaric, Katie Kirkland and Faith Williamson being honored.
Brittany Bray scored on an assist from Sacha Gay Brown in the first period to give the Lady Cats a 1-0 lead. Catherine Hatch scored at the 24:45 mark of the second period to up the Cat lead to 2-0. Senior Danijela Kolaric gave Bethel a 3-0 lead with just under 15 minutes left in the game. Maria Fernada Campos was credited with the assist. Janine Dennis scored the final goal giving Bethel the 4-0 win. Senior Cara Cook had the assist.
Bethel outshot BPU 19-0 and had a 13-0 advantage in shots on goal.
Bethel resumes play in a road game at Dalton State Thursday beginning at 4 p.m. CST.
