MOUNT VERNON, Ga. –After a disappointing loss at Middle Georgia State Thursday the Lady Wildcat soccer squad bounced back with a big road win at Brewton-Parker Saturday. Bethel beat the Barons 2-1 in overtime.
Brittany Bray scored the game winner in the extra period. Marina Hamer had an assist in the game. Danijela Kolaric had given Bethel a 1-0 lead in the first period. BPU tied it later and the teams were deadlocked at the end of regulation after a scoreless second period.
Bethel dominated the match with a 25-7 advantage in shots and a 14-3 margin in shots on goal. Jenna Mullen recorded two saves in the contest.
Bethel moved to 7-4 overall and 1-1 in the SSAC. BPU fell to 5-3-1 and 0-2.
Bethel travels to Williams Baptist Tuesday for an afternoon match at 1 p.m. The Cats return home Saturday, October 6 to host conference rival Martin Methodist at 1:30 p.m.
