MCKENZIE, Tenn. - In games originally scheduled for Saturday the Bethel Lady Wildcats played host to Middle Georgia State Thursday afternoon. The Cats and Knights split the doubleheader with MGS winning game one 10-5. The Cats took game two 7-3.
Game one saw the teams combine for 27 hits. MGS out the Lady Cats 15-12. The Knights scored five runs in the first, one in the third, two runs in the fifth and two tallies in the sixth. Bethel scored a single run in the first and fifth innings. The Cats added three in the sixth. Ciara Aragon, Emmi Thurmond and Lexee Miller each drove in a run. Dominque Todd had the three RBI's in the sixth with a three run triple. Maddie Cochran suffered the loss while Harley Roberts was the winner for MGS.
Game two saw Bethel jump out to the lead. They scored a run in the first on a Hollee Henson RBI single. Henson drove in two more runs in the third. Miller drove in a run in the fourth. Iesha Kizer iced the game away with a three-run homer in the sixth. It was her third three run homer in the last three games. She leads the SSAC with 12 homers. Billie Douglas was the winner. Meagan Coleman was charge with the MGS loss.
Bethel is 13-27 overall and 7-13 in the SSAC. Middle Georgia is 11-23 and 7-12.
The Lady Cats host Brewton -Parker Friday at 1:30 p.m. for a pair Of SSAC games. Senior Day ceremonies will take place at 1 p.m. Seniors Emmi Thurmond, Ciara Aragon, Dominque Todd, Keely Jordan and Casey Wade will be saluted and honored.
