WALNUT RIDGE, AR–The Bethel Lady Wildcats used the long ball to gain a split in their doubleheader at Williams Baptist Tuesday. Dingers by Hollee Henson, Iesha Kizer and Keely Jordan propelled Bethel to a 4-1 victory in game two. WBC had won the first game 7-0.
Billie Douglas picked up the win going 4.2 innings for Bethel. Maddie Cochran preserved the win with 2.1 impressive innings. Henson's shot was a two-run homer in the fourth. Kizer had a solo blast in the second. Jordan had a solo shot in the fifth. Bethel had 11 hits in the win. Ciara Aragon had two doubles while Cochran and Skyla Stanfield also contibuted with two hits each.
Bethel managed just four hits against WBC's Laura Helmich in game one. Lexee Miller had three hits. Bailey Moore had the only other hit for the Wildcats.
Bethel moved to 6-12 on the season while Williams Baptist is 4-8 after the split.
Bethel travels to Faulkner Friday to open SSAC action against the Eagles in Montgomery. The action begins at 1 p.m. at Wynn Field.
