MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Wildcats split their doubleheader with the visiting Tigers of Olivet Nazarene Tuesday afternoon at Wildcat Park in McKenzie. The Cats took the first game in dramatic fashion wining 3-2 in 12 innings. ONU won the second game 11-3.
Bethel moved to 4-6 on the season while the Tigers left McKenzie with a 6-4 mark.
In game one the Wildcats scored single runs in the third and fourth innings while ONU pushed across single runs in the fifth and seventh frames.
It would be the bottom of the 12th that the Cats won the game with a game winning RBI by Austin Brenner. It was the second run of the day driven in by the junior from Arlington, Tennessee. Lucas Riddick drove in the other Wildcat run and also picked up the win in relief. Nick Campe suffered the Tiger loss.
In game two the Tigers outhit the Wildcats 12-6. Riddick had a home run and an RBI. Lee McBunch and Kendall Adkisson drove in single runs. Brady Jones took the loss while ONU's Graham Burke picked up the win.
