Wildcats Whip Welch in Gallatin

GALLATIN, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats won their third straight with a 129-62 win at Welch College in Gallatin, Tennessee Saturday. With the victory the Cats moved to 7-3 on the season. The 129 points are the most since Bethel scored 130 against OSU-Mansfield in November of 2016.

The Wildcats hit a record setting single game total of 19 three pointers. The Cats hit 62 percent connecting on 47-of-75 shots from the field. Bethel had a whopping 47-25 advantage in rebounds. Bethel led 66-22 at the half. Twelve different Wildcats had an assist in the game. Braxton Nappier had a game high six for the Wildcats. Bethel forced Welch into 24 turnovers.

Seven Wildcats scored in double figures. Isaac Edmondson had a game high 16 points. Trey Phifer had a career high 13 points. Tyrus Robinson had 12 points and connected on four three's giving him 11 in the last two games. Cayden Edmonson and Jacob Rose each scored 12 points. It was a career high for Rose. Charles Cobb followed with 11 points while Bradley Walker tossed in 10 points. Walker also had a game high 12 rebounds. All thirteen Wildcats who appeared in the game scored at least six points or more.

Luke Charlton led the Flames with 15 points.

Coach Jeff Britt commented, "We were proud to see our guys respond after a tough week of finals. It was good to see all of our kids get in the game and play well. Next week we have a really tough task and we will have to be focused and prepared."

Bethel returns to action Monday traveling to Delta State for an exhibition tipping off at 7 p.m.
