MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After beating Loyola 3-0 Thursday the Bethel Lady Wildcats had another sweep beating William Carey 3-0 Friday in pool play in the SSAC Volleyball Championships in Montgomery. The Lady Cats won 25-21, 25-19 and 25 -15.
SSAC Player of the Year Rachael Gunn led Bethel with 16 kills. Jessyca Watson had 11 kills. Katelyn Van Hooser had 20 assists while Brooke Burress had 16 assists. Giulia Zilotti had 11 digs in the match.
Bethel won their fifth straight match and moved to 21-7 on the year.
Coach Starla Cupples said, "We were able to get the bye tonight and move to the semis tomorrow. WCU fought hard but our girls are on a mission and we able to close out in three. They played together as a team and win. We want to also say a big thanks to our men's soccer squad for their great support."
Bethel moves on to semi-final action Saturday at 10 a.m. facing the winner of the Florida College/ Mobile game being played Friday night.
