Lady Wildcats Win Third Straight

MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats won their third straight (3-0) with a 106-47 win over Crowley's Ridge Monday night in Crisp Arena. CRC fell to 0-1 on the year.

Bethel's Myah Taylor scored 29 of her game high 30 points in the first half propelling the Lady Cats to a 47-19 halftime margin. Taylor has averaged 26 points in Bethel's three wins. Morgan Martin had a huge third quarter and finished with 15 points. She scored 11 of her 15 points in the quarter.

Ashton Hulme scored a career high 19 points, all of those in the second half. Jesica Keith scored a career high 13 points with all of those also in the second half.

Bethel forced the Pioneers into 22 turnovers and dominated the boards at 60-33. Bethel had a 30-6 advantage in points off turnovers. The Lady Cats shot 47 percent from the floor hitting 40-of-85 shots. They knocked down 14 three's.

Crowley's Ridge was 16-of-62 from the field at 25 percent. They hit just 3-of-21 three point attempts.

Elly Burrell led CRC with 14 points. Alexus Taylor followed with 12 points.

Bethel's bench outscored CRC 48-12. The Lady Cats had a 28- 4 margin in second chance points.

Coach Chris Nelson said his team is continuing to develop. "We are still a work in progress but I am pleased with our effort and development. We have such a mix of veterans and newcomers and it will take time to become a cohesive unit but I really like this squad and how they want to learn. They get along well and really pull for each other." He added, "Myah had a great first half and Morgan had the big third quarter. I was extremely pleased with our bench. They all played well and more confident than ever. Natalie Martin ran the offense and Jesica along with Ashton had impressive performances."

The Cats return to action November 6 traveling to Freed-Hardeman for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off versus the Lions.
