TEMPLE TERRANCE, FL – With the regular season winding down every team in the SSAC is aware only six teams will make postseason league play. The Bethel Lady Soccer Cats picked up a huge road win at Florida College Thursday night to stay in the mix for one of those positions.
With the 3-2 overtime win, Bethel ran their record to 9-7 overall and 2-4 in the league. Florida College dropped to 7-4-2 and 2-2-1.
Bethel trailed 1-0 at the break but behind two goals by Janine Dennis on penalty kicks fought back and eventually won in overtime on a goal by Elvira Martin.
Bethel outshot the Falcons 18-8 and had a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal.
Coach Misty Aird expressed how proud she was of her squad. "After traveling 15 hours I'm super proud of my ladies in finding a way to win in what was a very physical game. We look forward to getting home safely and getting ready for two big home matches to close out the regular season."
The Lady Wildcats return home for their final two regular season games. They host Dalton State on October 25 and Faulkner on October 27.
