HATTIESBURG, MS- The Bethel Wildcats took the No. 1 ranked Crusaders of William Carey to the limit Saturday night in Hattiesburg before falling 2-1.
Bethel outshot WCU 19-9 and had a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks. The Crusaders had a 5-2 margin in shots on goal.
WCU led 1-0 at the break. Bethel's Pascal Mohungsi scored a second period goal but it was not enough.
The Wildcats dropped to 11-3-1 and 4-1 in the SSAC. William Carey remained unbeaten at 13-0. They are 6-0 in the SSAC.
The Wildcats travel Florida College Thursday for another SSAC match-up beginning at 7:30 p. m. CST.
