MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats took No. 13 Mobile to the wire Thursday night at Wildcat Stadium before falling 3-2 to the visiting Rams.
Mobile scored two first period goals and led 2-0 at the break. Abigail Bush and Nadia Soderburg scored to give Mobile the 2-0 advantage.
The Lady Cats battled back behind two second period goals by Janine Dennis but Bush scored what proved to be the game winner in the second period for Mobile.
Mobile outshot the Lady Cats 18-4 and had a 10-4 in shots on goal advantage. Bethel's Jenna Mullen had seven saves in the contest.
Mobile ran their record to 10-3 overall and remained unbeaten in league play at 5-0. The Rams won their seventh straight. Bethel dropped to 8-6 and 1-3. They are 0-7 all-time against Mobile.
Bethel travels to No. 2 William Carey for a 1 p.m. SSAC match-up.
