MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats concluded their regular season Tuesday at Wildcat Field hosting the Blue Mountain Lady Toppers. The games were make-up games from the rained –out games from last Friday. It was Senior Day for the Lady Cats. Alex Turner, Sydney Huff, Mady Kate Gantt, Kayla Guthrie, Marissa Davis, Andrea McMillan and Caylee Crews were all honored between the games.
Blue Mountain won game one 9-2. The Toppers scored two runs in the second, five in the third and a single run in the fourth. They added another run in the sixth. Bethel scored two runs in the second. Ciara Aragon doubled in a run while Dominque Todd scored on a wild pitch later in the inning.
BMC outhit Bethel 12-5. Bethel committed three errors in the game. Bailey Moore suffered the loss while BMC's Mckenzie Childress went the distance and picked up the win.
The Lady Wildcats bounced back in game two with a 7-2 victory. A three-run homer by Mady Kate Gantt was the big blow in the game. Casey Wade also went deep for a homer. Caylee Crews and Alex Turner also had RBI's. Wade went the distance for the victory. Annabelle Smith was charged with the loss. Bethel has 14 hits in the game.
Bethel finished 24-24 and 7-19 in the SSAC over the regular season. BMC is 21-25 and 9-17.
The games marked the last home games for Coach Larry Geraldi who will move to the golf links as Bethel's Golf Coach beginning next year.
Bethel travels to Decatur, Alabama Thursday for the SSAC Championships. They meet Martin Methodist at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The double-elimination tournament will take place at the Wilson Morgan Softball Complex, with the final two teams receiving automatic bids to the NAIA Softball National Championship.
