BELLEVILLE, Ill. –The Bethel Wildcats used the long ball and a big first inning to win 12-5 at Lindenwood-Belleville Tuesday afternoon. The Wildcats moved to 21-17 on the season while the Lynx fell to 21-19 on the year.
Bethel pounded out 17 hits in the game with four of those by Christian Padin. Lucas Riddick had three hit for the Wildcats. Padin, Riddick and Kendall Adkisson each had homers in the game. Padin and Riddick drove in three runs while Adkisson had two RBI's. Zach Dunnavant, Zach Buehler and Austin Brenner each drove in single runs in the contest.
Clayton Parker picked up the Wildcat victory while Jim Brady suffered the Lynx loss.
The Wildcats return home for a weekend SSAC showdown with No. 1 Faulkner Friday and Saturday. Doubleheader action is on tap Friday beginning at 1 p.m. A nine-inning single game is schedule Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
