MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats return home Saturday to face the undefeated Williams Baptist College Eagles. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Crisp Arena. The Wildcats have been a team of streaks thus far on the season. They won their first two games, lost the next four and enter Saturday's action with a two game winning streak. The recent loss to APSU was an exhibition affair.
The Wildcats are 2-1 at home on the season and 4-4 overall. The Eagles are 5-0 and 3-0 on the road.
The Wildcats are 4-0 when they lead at halftime. They are 4-0 when they out shoot their opponents. They are 4-1 when they out rebound their opponents. Bethel is 71-20 all-time in Crisp Arena.
Isaac Edmondson leads Bethel in scoring averaging 18.8 points per game. His 48 points in the Chick-Fil-A Classic pushed him to 920 career points. He is 80 points shy of becoming the 30th player in Bethel history to join the 1,000 Point Club. Chase Nappier follows popping in 10.1 points per outing. He leads the team in assists with 33.
The Wildcats are No. 4 in the nation pulling down 17.6 rebounds per game. They are No. 7 in the nation in steals with 85 on the year. Bethel averages 76.5 points per game and yields 72.4.
WBC is led by Shackeel Butters who averages 14.8 points and 14.4 rebounds per game. He is third in the nation in rebounding. Butters is 2nd in the nation shooting 73.9 percent from the floor. Dom Dyes averages 14.0 per outing.
WBC averages 48.0 rebounds per game which is sixth in the nation. The Eagles average 92.2 points per game and yield 75.2 per game.
The Bethel game is the fifth of seven straight road games for the Eagles. The Wildcats go on the road for two straight road games after the WBC game. They travel to Brescia Tuesday and then play at Martin Methodist on December 2. They return home to host Crowley's Ridge on December 5.
