MONTGOMERY, Ala. – No. 1 Mobile (Ala.), No. 5 Faulkner (Ala.), No. 6 Middle Georgia State and No. 7 Loyola (La.) all advanced to the semifinals of the 2017 SSAC Volleyball Championship, presented by Golden Corral. The Bethel Lady Wildcats were eliminated after losses to Faulkner and Mobile. Bethel finished their season at 13-17.
Mobile went unbeaten to claim the top seed in Pool A, while the Eagles claimed the second spot at 2-1. Loyola swept pool play action in Pool B to earn the No. 1 seed, while Middle Georgia, Martin Methodist and William Carey had to go to tie breakers. Middle Georgia then defeated the RedHawks 25-22 and the Crusaders 27-25 in one-set matches to advance.
