HATTIESBURG, MS – The Bethel Wildcats gave the No. 1 ranked William Carey Crusaders all the wanted and more for a period Wednesday night in a SSAC soccer showdown in Hattiesburg. The teams battled to a deadlock after the first 45 minutes. The second period was a different matter however as WCU exploded for four goals and won 4-0.
WCU outshot Bethel 13-9 and had a 6-2 advantage on shots on goal. Mustapha Wadda had four of Bethel's nine shots.
Bethel fell to 10-4 overall and 3-2 in SSAC play. William Carey moved to 13-0 and 5-0.
The Wildcats host No. 9 Mobile Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in Wildcat Stadium.
