DALTON, Ga. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats opened a three game road trip with a key conference win at Dalton State Thursday night beating the Roadrunners 4-1. Bethel won their third straight and moved to 10-2 overall and 2-1 in the SSAC. DSU fell to 6-4-1 and 0-3.
Melinda Sopka scored Bethel's first goal on an assist from Janine Dennis. Jodi Butler scored Bethel's second goal and again it was Dennis with an assist. Sopka continued her great play with Bethel's third score on an assist from Giovanna Ledesma. Dennis knocked in Bethel's fourth goal and this time it would be Sopka with the assist.
The victory was Coach Misty Aird's 198th career win.
Bethel travels to Faulkner Saturday and then closes out the three game road trip visiting No. 4 William Carey on October 18.
The Lady Wildcats return home on October 21st to host No. 11 Mobile on Senior Day. They close out the regular season campaign on October 28th at No. 1 Martin Methodist.
