MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats won their fourth straight with a 5-0 win at Faulkner Saturday night. The Lady Cats moved to 11-2 overall and 3-1 in the SSAC. Faulkner dropped to 2-9 and 0-4. The victory was Coach Misty Aird's 199th career win.
Bethel scored five goals in the first period and dominated the action for the full ninety minutes. Melinda Sopka continued her outstanding play scoring Bethel's first goal. She had an assist on Janine Dennis' goal to give Bethel a 2-0 lead. Dennis made it 3-0 on an assist from Natani Tomlinson-Traill. Brittany Bray added Bethel's fourth goal on an assist from Sopka. Sopka wasn't finished as she assisted Dennis on Bethel's fifth and final score.
Bethel has an 18-3 advantage in shots and a 13-1 mark in shots on goal.
Bethel closes out a three game road trip visiting No. 4 William Carey on Wednesday.
The Lady Wildcats return home on October 21st to host No. 11 Mobile on Senior Night. That start time has been moved to 5 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium due to a band competition scheduled at the stadium that same day. They close out the regular season campaign October 28th at No. 1 Martin Methodist.
