Christopher Beck
Student Assistant Coach Men's Basketball
Year 3 (26-27)
Christopher Beck serves as a Student Assistant Coach for the Bethel University men’s basketball program. A 2024 graduate of McKenzie High School in McKenzie, Tennessee, Beck played four years under Head Coach John Wilkins. After multiple injuries brought his playing career to an earlier-than-expected end, he transitioned into coaching, allowing him to continue pursuing his passion for the game from the sidelines.
Beck began his coaching career in the fall of 2023 while still a senior in high school. He spent two seasons at McKenzie Middle School, serving as an assistant boys’ basketball coach and head coach of the junior varsity team under Head Coach Colin Lester. During his time with the Rebels, Beck helped lead the program to back-to-back district semifinal appearances and coached five players who earned All-District honors. In the spring of 2024, he further expanded his coaching experience by founding a developmental travel basketball program, where he served as head coach and focused on helping young athletes develop their skills and passion for the game.
Now entering his third year as a coach at Bethel University, Beck has played a role in the continued growth and success of the Wildcats’ men’s basketball program. During his first season on staff, the Wildcats finished with a 16–12 record. In the 2025–2026 season, Beck helped the team compile a 19–13 record as Bethel earned a berth in the NAIA National Tournament for the first time since 2019. The Wildcats faced eventual national runner-up Langston University in the national tournament. The season also marked a historic achievement for the program, as Bethel made its first-ever appearance in the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship game where they ultimately came up short to the eventual national champion Freed-Hardeman University.
Beck is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Head Coach Britt and Coach Barnes, learning from their leadership while continuing to develop his own coaching philosophy. He is committed to growing as a coach, leader, and person while helping build a successful culture within the Bethel University basketball program.
Christopher is the son of Michael and Shannon Beck and resides in McKenzie, Tennessee.
