Volley Cats Use Comeback to Beat Cumberland University
MCKENZIE, Tenn. - The Bethel Lady Wildcats played host to the Cumberland Phoenix Saturday afternoon in Crisp Arena. The Phoenix arrived in McKenzie receiving votes in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll.
After dropping the first two sets, the Wildcats battled back to win the next three sets.
Bethel won 17-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-18 and 15-12.
Nayeli Vilchez led the Cats with 42 kills and 11 digs. Dominika Skoneczna had 15 kills. Hannah McGowan finished with 11 kills and 10 digs. Ashely Sommerfeld contributed with 10 kills. Kameshia Moxley had 10 kills. Sami Parker had 19 digs.
Bethel moved to 11-4 overall and 2-3 in the MSC. CU dropped to 10-4 and 3-2.
Up next for Bethel is a trip to Batesville to face Lyon on Tuesday. Action begins at 6 :30 p.m.
