Men's Soccer to Host First & Second Rounds of NAIA National Tournament
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Bethel University Wildcats play host to the McKenzie Bracket of the 2025 NAIA Men's Soccer National Tournament Thursday and Friday in McKenzie.
The 10th ranked and No. 1 seeded Wildcats fresh off their MSC Championship received a first round bye and will play Saturday at noon against the winner of the Rocky Mountain/ Union Commonwealth game to be played Thursday at 1 p.m.
The three squads are part of the 40 team field with teams that advance out of the first and second rounds to move on to Orange Beach to the final site that will be played on December 1 and continue through December 8, until one team stands alone and is crowned a champion.
The Cats are 12-1-2 on the season. It will be the 12th appearance in the nationals for Bethel. The Cats are 10-8-1 all-time in the tournament. Bethel won the national championship in 2008.
Rocky Mountain Men's Soccer earned its seventh trip to the NAIA National Tournament in program history, the first since 2020. The Bears received an at-large bid.
The Battlin' Bears earned their best finish in the Cascade Conference since 2020, finishing third overall with a regular season record of 7-1-7 and a 6-1-5 record in conference play. The Bears advanced to the CCC Tournament Semifinals without the services of their top two goal scorers, falling to the eventual champion, Warner Pacific.
The Union Commonwealth Bulldogs are 13-2-4 and finished 9-0-3 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs qualified by winning the AAC regular season title.
This trip marks Union's sixth overall appearance in the NAIA National Championship field and its third straight berth. Under head coach Jonathan Shaw, the Bulldogs have now qualified for the national tournament four times.
