Soccer Cats Edge Spring Arbor in Ray Wells Classic

COLUMBIA, Ky. – After winning their season opener (2-0) at home over Bryan College Monday night the No. 22 Bethel Wildcats traveled to Columbia, Kentucky Thursday to face Spring Arbor in the Ray Wells Classic.

Lindsey Wilson College is the host school for the event.

After a scoreless first period, Bethel's Hubert Oduya Kompany scored at the 61:13 mark to give the Wildcats a 1-nil lead. Kompany scored on a penalty   kick.

 The Cougars tied the game a few minutes later but Bethel's Prince Badu scored what proved to be the game winner at the 78:54 mark.  

The Wildcats had a 15-12 advantage in shots and an 8-5 margin in shots on goal.

Bethel's  Diego Camargo recorded four saves in the match.

The Wildcats moved to 2-0 while Spring Arbor dropped to 1-1

Bethel faces Southeastern Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
