Comeback Falls Short and Wildcats see Season End with Loss to Cumberlands in MSC Championship

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Bethel Wildcats saw their season come to an end Thursday with an 8-4 loss to No. 1 seeded the University of the Cumberlands.

The Pats scored a single run in the first and took command with a four run second.

Trailing 8-0, Bethel mounted a ninth inning comeback. With two outs, Luis Aristud and Jared Hall drove in runs to make it 8-2. Adriel Vega was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to cut the deficit to 8-3. C J Thomas was hit by a pitch and the Cats trailed 8-4 with three on. Unfortunately, the Cats would score no more and see the season end.

The Patriots outhit the Wildcats 9-8.

Lucas Smith was charged with the loss.

The Wildcats finished at 22-18 while the Patriots moved to 43-8.
