Bat Cats Sweep Blue Raiders

MCKENZIE, Tenn. -The Bethel Wildcats played host to Lindsey Wilson Friday at Wildcat Park in the   Kahlden Complex in McKenzie.

Bethel took game one of the doubleheader 5-1.

Jose Olmeda gave the Wildcats a 2-0 lead in the third. The Blue Raiders scored a single run in the fourth.

The Cats scored three runs in the fifth. The runs were all results of the long ball. CJ Thomas slugged a two-run homer which was followed by a solo shot off the bat of Olmeda.

The Cats out hit LWC 9-6. Walker Ward picked up his fifth (5-2) victory of the season.

The Wildcats pounded out 19 hits in game two and blitzed the Raiders 17-7 in eight innings. Bethel had 11 extra base hits.   Adriel Vega, Olmeda, Ivan Vega, and Jack Beck all homered. Juan Diego Ramos (3) and Olmeda (3), led nine different Wildcats who drove in runs in the big win.

Lucas Smith picked up the win.

The teams play a single game on Saturday at 1 p.m. Senior Day ceremonies will begin at 12:15 p.m.

Bethel is 18-18 overall and 6-10 in the MSC.

The Raiders are 6-34 and 2-12. LWC is 1-19 in road action while Bethel is 14-7 in home action.

Bethel leads the all-time series 14-6.
