Cats Drop Doubleheader at Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Bethel Wildcats dropped a twin bill at Georgetown Saturday afternoon. Georgetown came from behind in both games to win 6-5 and 10-5.

A late inning rally propelled the Tigers to the 6-5 victory in game one.

Bethel led 4-0 after three innings. Adriel Vega drove in a run in the first. Jared Hall had an RBI in the second. Ivan Vega slugged a two-run homer in the top of the third to give the Cats a four-run cushion.

The Tigers plated two runs in the fourth.

Bethel added a run when Luis Aristud hit a solo shot to give Bethel the 5-2 lead.

Georgetown exploded for four runs in the bottom of the sixth to win. Bethel had the tying run in scoring position but was unable to send the game to extra innings.

The Tigers outhit the Wildcats 11-10.

Tristian Seputis suffered the Wildcat loss.

An RBI single by Arsitud in the third gave Bethel a 1-0 lead in game two. The Tigers bounced back with four runs in the bottom of the inning.

The second game followed the same pattern as the Wildcats took a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the seventh but again, the Tigers rallied, scoring five runs in the bottom of the inning to beat the Wildcats 10-5.

Jose Olmeda, CJ Thomas, Jack Beck (2) along with Luis Aristud accounted for the Wildcat runs.

The Tigers out hit the Cats 13-7.

Reese Ellison took the Wildcat loss.

The Wildcats fell to 15-18 overall and 3-10 in the MSC.

Georgetown moved to 9-25 and 4-10.

The teams wrap up the series Sunday at 11 a.m.
