Bat Cats Win Fifth in a Row with Series Sweep of Lindsey Wilson

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Bethel Wildcats won their fifth game in a row with a 2–0 win over Lindsey Wilson Sunday. The victory completed a three-game sweep of the Blue Raiders over the weekend.

Jared Hall singled in a run in the fifth inning to give the Cats the lead. Zach Griffith drove in a run in the seventh to up the lead to 2-0. Hall had three hits in the game.

The Wildcats would hold on for the 2-0 shutout and move to 26-8 overall and 7-5 in the MSC. LWC dropped to 13-22 and 1-11.

Bethel outhit the Raiders 8-6.  

Lucas Smith pitched seven strong innings allowing just five hits. He picked up his sixth win of the season. Alexis Rodeiguez was credited with the save.

Bethel has won eight in a row between the two programs and has a 12-6 lead in the series. Bethel has won eleven of the last thirteen between the two.

Bethel plays host to Blue Mountain Christian Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Saturday Recap:

The Wildcats and the Blue Raiders squared off in a Mid-South Conference weekend series in Columbia which got underway Saturday.

Bethel's bats were hot from the start and that led to a sweep of the twin bill. The Cats had 36 hits on the day.

The Cats took game one 12-4 in seven innings and then won the nightcap 16-3 in eight innings.

 In game one Bethel scored four runs on five hits in the first. Juan Diego and Noah Hawkins had RBI singles. Adriel Vega drove in two runs with a double. The Cats added two runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth to lead 9-1. Bethel went on to win 12-4. Juan Diego and Jared Hall had five hits each in the game. Bethel outhit the Blue Raiders 19- 9. LWC committed six errors in the game. Tyler Proctor won his seventh game of the year.

Game two saw Bethel jump out to another early lead. The Cats scored in six of the seven innings to win 16-3. The Wildcats outhit LWC 17- 8. The Blue Raiders committed three errors in the game. Jared Hall had three hits, giving him eight in the two games. Ramos had seven hits on the day. Luke Boswell tossed six strong innings and picked up his sixth win of the season.
