Wildcats Split DH with Georgetown

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats played host to the Georgetown Tigers Friday in the first two games of a three-game weekend set.

In game one the Tigers scored two runs in the top of the third. Georgetown scored what would prove to be the game winner in the fourth. A two run sixth would not be enough as the Cats dropped the game 3-2. Juan Diego and Noah Foster drove in the runs for the Cats who outhit the Kentucky visitors 5-4. Tyler Proctor suffered the loss while Trevor Baker picked up the Tiger win.

Trailing 1-0 in game two, the Wildcats took a 2-1 lead in the second. Luis Aristud and Bryan Catala drove in single runs in the inning to give inning to give the Cats the lead. The Wildcats upped their lead to 3-1 on a Noah Foster RBI single in the third. GC scored a run in the sixth, but Bethel exploded with seven runs in the seventh to take command of the game. The inning was highlighted by a two-run homer by Foster. Doubles by Ivan Vega, Juan Diego, and Zach Griffith also drove in runs. Wyatt McKee accounted for the other run with an RBI single. Bethel had eight of their thirteen hits in the inning. The Cats went on to win 10-3.  

Luke Boswell picked up the win while Anthony Barrera was charged with the Tiger loss.

Bethel finished the day at 22-8 and 3-5 in the league. 

The Tigers are 19-12 and 5-3.

The series finale will be Saturday at noon.
