Bat Cats Host Cumberland Phoenix Friday & Saturday
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats return to conference play this weekend hosting the Cumberland University Phoenix in a three-game series at Wildcat Park at the Khalden Complex in McKenzie.
The Wildcats enter the weekend with a 10-17 mark. Bethel is 8-9 in league action and are uncharacteristically 4-12 at home on the season.
The Phoenix sport a 22-16 record and are 11-3 in the MSC. Cumberland is 5-9 in road action this year. CU received votes this week in the NAIA Baseball Coaches Top 25 Poll.
The teams play a single game Friday at 2 p.m. and then square off for a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. Senior Day ceremonies will be held between the games Saturday.

Jose Olmeda leads the Wildcats in hitting with a .344 batting average. Olmeda leads Bethel with 20 RBI's and in runs scored with twenty-eight. He and Jacob Foster leads the Wildcats in home runs with three. Kendrick Osborne leads the Wildcats in hits with thirty-two. Marco Santa leads the pitching staff with five victories. He has a team lading 3.29 ERA.
Cumberland has seven players hitting over .300 or more. Santel Farmer and Tyner Hughes lead the squad with forty-two hits each. Farmer has a team leading sixteen stolen bases. CU has five players with thirty-five hits or more. Cole Turney leads the Phoenix with fifteen home runs and 43 RBI's. Daniel Alvarez leads the staff with four wins.
