David Baer pitched four strong innings and picked up the victory.
Coach Rusty Thompson commented, "Our defensive play was very subpar today, especially in the top of the 1st of game one. At the same time, we had a positive come out of that game. We fought our way back and battled and had a chance to win. Losing a close one which could've easily gotten out of hand had we laid down. These young men showed a lot of grit."
Thompson added, "In game two we played better defensively but it was still shy of our expectations as a team. David Baer did a great job pitching through it and so did Brandon Armour in relief. I thought we made great strides today offensively with multiple guys and it's always good when you put crooked numbers up on the score board in multiple innings. I look forward to the upcoming weekend and us continuing to improve moving forward."
