CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats saw their season end Friday afternoon, falling 3-1 to the Campbellsville Lady Tigers in the quarterfinals of the MSC tournament in Campbellsville.
Campbellsville's Alejandra Rocha Peniche scored after an assist from Wilma Gidlof at the 14:01 mark to give the Tigers a 1-nil lead.
Campbellsville Amelie Matheis on an assist by Molly Metcalfe gave Tigers a 2-nil lead at the 59:06 mark.
The Cats did not give up as they began to outplay the Tigers and rallied with a flurry of shots.
Bethel's Own Goal in the 74th minute cut the deficit to 2-1.
Rocha Peniche put the game away with a late score and the Tigers won 3-1.
Bethel outshot Campbellsville 12-11. Both squads had nine shots on goal.
The Cats finished the year 3-11-1 while Campbellsville advanced to 9-8-0 and will play Wednesday at Cumberland University in the semi-finals.
