LEBANON, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats and the Cumberland University Phoenix began their three game MSC weekend series Friday afternoon in Lebanon.
The Phoenix scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to win 2-1. Alexis Wheeler had homered in the fourth inning to give Bethel a 1-0 lead.
Cumberland outhit Bethel 7-3 in the game. Bailey Griffith picked up her ninth win of the season for CU. Jezabelle Quintana suffered the hard luck loss for Bethel.
The Lady Cats dropped to 19-15 overall and 9-7 in the MSC.
Cumberland improved to 19-13 and 8-8. The Phoenix moved to 15-2 at home on the season.
The teams wrap up the series Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at noon.
