HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats dropped both games of their doubleheader to No. 22 Freed-Hardeman Saturday in Henderson. The Lions won 7-3 and 3-0. The Lady Cats managed only five runs in the four game weekend set. FHU won Friday's games 4-2 and 2-0.
Bethel dropped to 18-10 overall and 12-10 in the MSC. The No. 22 Lions moved to 24-6 and 14-4. FHU remained unbeaten at home at 16-0.
In game one Kayla Gillespie slugged a two-run homer. The other Bethel run came as a result of a Kalani Kuroda RBI. Kaylee McKinley suffered the loss.
A seventh inning double was Bethel's only hit in game two. Freed's Brittany Adair allowed just four runners in the game. She allowed two walks and hit a batter. Billie Douglas was charged with the loss.
The Lady Cats return home Tuesday for a doubleheader against Martin Methodist. Action begins at 3 p.m. The games are make-up games from an earlier rain-out date.
