MOBILE, Ala. –The Bethel Lady Wildcat tennis squad faced two tough matches Friday in Mobile. They met No.18 Mobile in their first match. The Rams beat the Cats 7 -0. The Cats were on the verge of winning a couple of matches but the home squad would prevail for the shutout.
Spring Hill, a NCAA squad beat Bethel 5-2 in the later match. Luana Wild fought back after losing the first set to win a tiebreaker 12-10 to capture her match. Kelsie Seiber won her match to give Bethel their two wins.
Coach Derrick Hubble said, "These student athletes were able to grind until the last point of each match. I am pleased and proud of them. We are continuing to grow as a team and we look forward to beginning conference play this week facing Pikeville and the University of the Cumberlands."
