Women's Soccer Drops Match Versus Martin Methodist

MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats had high hopes entering their match against Martin Methodist Wednesday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium. After leading 1-0 midway of the first period on a goal by Ashari Bowen those hopes were dashed after three straight RedHawk goals. MMC led 3-1 at the end of the first period. Estelle Badoedana Ekada had two goals while teammate Adisa Amang added an insurance score in the period to give the Hawks their final score and eventually the 3-1 victory.

Bethel outshot MMC 10-9 and had a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal. Shanay Ricketts recorded two save for Bethel while MMC's Gabby Kennedy was credited six saves.

Bethel dropped to 3-1 and 0-1 in the MSC. Martin Methodist improved to 7-0 and 1-0.

It was the 25th all-time meeting between the two programs. The series has been dominated by MMC which holds a 24-0-1 advantage over Bethel. The RedHawks have won 16 in a row over Bethel and are 7-0-1 in matches played in McKenzie.

The Lady Wildcats return to action Sunday hosting Georgetown at 2 p.m.

Ticket Information & Protocols for Football, Soccer and Volleyball

The Bethel University Sports Information Office has announced fan policy for ticketing to home football, soccer and volleyball games along with COVID protocols for those events. The policy has already been in effect for home basketball contests.

HomeTown Ticketing is the Official Ticketing Partner for Bethel University sporting events. This applies for basketball, football, soccer and volleyball only.

All in attendance for these sports games will be required to have a ticket for admission.

The partnership provides convenient online ticketing options for consumers, as well as additional

Security and reporting capabilities for the Bethel staff to utilize.

To obtain tickets, students, fans and supporters are asked to visit www.bethelathletics.com and go to the Tickets tab at the top of the page. The ticket tab will list all home events that tickets are required for. Obtain or purchase the tickets at that tab. All

Ticket prices may vary and are notated for each event as it is listed. All tickets must be purchased in advance with a credit card.

Remember to social distance and wear your mask inside the arena at all times. Currently due to COVID-19, there will be no food or drinks allowed inside the arena.

  • MSC guidelines are being followed. These guidelines include but are not limited to :

1 - Coach/Player education about how to slow/prevent the spread of COVID-19

2 - Daily screening, pre travel screening

3- Cleaning and sanitizing of materials and facilities used and to be used

4 – Bench maximums

5- Coaching staff and support staff to wear masks

Precautions for fans & staff in arena

Each venue at Bethel University is under MSC & NAIA reduced capacity guidelines

Masks required at all times

  • All fans enter gates next to ticket booths (no exceptions) All fans must have a ticket for entrance
  • Fans are required to wear face masks at all times at ALL TIMES
  • No food or drinks allowed in the arena
  • Fans are required to sit six feet apart unless they are within a family group
  • Only authorized and pre-game approved personnel allowed on the floor before and after the games
  • Only authorized and pre-game approved personnel allowed near benches and press row
  • We ask that fans do their best to not intermingle closely with players not in their family group before or after the game
  • Selected games will be video streamed with no charge during the fall. There will be a streaming charge for spring contests.

  • MSC & NAIA guidelines are being followed. These guidelines include but are not limited to :

3- Cleaning and sanitizing of materials and facilities used and to be used

4 – Bench & sideline maximums

5 - Masks being worn by all non-playing personnel on sidelines

6- Only approved and working personnel will be allowed on sidelines. This will be strictly enforced by Bethel Security

Precautions for fans & staff –Outside the Playing Field

Seating at Wildcat Stadium limited to 33 percent (800 total including players, coaches, staff, band, cheer & fans)

All fans are required to enter through main center gate. Only pass list tickets approved by Athletic Director's Office and Sports Information Office will be allowed…..

Masks are to be worn by all fans and staff.

  • Fans are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and sit outside the fence down either side of the stadium
  • Family units should be seated together, respect and observe social distancing guidelines throughout Wildcat Stadium. Family units should share a bleacher row, maintaining six feet between families, with a row separating spectator groups
  • All fans must be seated. Fans will not be allowed to stand on upper foyer
  • Tailgating is NOT permitted at any event
  • Only working and prior to the event approved personnel will be allowed in the press box and Holland room. This will be strictly monitored and enforced
  • Home games will be video streamed. Fans can visit www.bethelathletics.com at a later date for details.

Contact with student-athletes or staff, prior to or at the completion of games; whether in, on, or around the facilities, will be PROHIBITED
