MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel University women's tennis team opened their fall season Saturday playing host to the No. 20 Cumberland University Phoenix. The more experienced Phoenix squad won 7-0.
Coach Derrick Hubble was pleased with his team despite the loss. "Cumberland is really good and worthy of their national ranking. Our kids were focused and despite the loss we learned a lot playing such a good team. Marcella Corderio played well and had our team focused. I am pleased with our effort and this was a great experience for us. We played until the end in every match. We will continue to grow and we feel good about our improvement in the remaining fall matches."
