CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY – The Bethel Lady Wildcats won in Campbellsville, Kentucky for the first time ever Wednesday edging the Lady Tigers 1-0. Bethel ran their record to 2-1 while the Lady Tigers fell to 2-1. Bethel is 2-4 in the series with a 1-2 mark in McKenzie and 1-2 in Campbellsville. The programs first met in 2010.
After a scoreless first period the Lady Wildcats took a 1-0 lead three minutes into period number two on a goal by Brittany Bray. Giovanna Ledesma had the assist. That would prove to be the only goal of the contest.
Campbellsville had a whopping 19-8 advantage in shot and had an 8-4 mark in shots on goal. Bethel's Holly Wright was outstanding in net recording eight saves.
The Lady Cats return to action hosting Texas A&M Texarkana at 3 p.m. in the Bethel Labor Day Classic.
