DECATUR, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the 2018 SSAC Softball All-Conference Teams and award winners at the 2018 SSAC Softball Awards Banquet Wednesday evening.
First-, and Second-Team All-Conference, Gold Glove, All-Freshman, All-Academic and Musco Lighting Champions of Character Teams were announced, along with the year-end awards. Several Bethel Lady Wildcats were honored including Iesha Kizer who was named First Team All-Conference. Kizer led the league with 13 home runs and 46 RBI's.
Newcomer of the Year: Maddie Burchell, Mobile (Ala.)
Freshman of the Year: Margaret Simmons, Middle Georgia State
Pitcher of the Year: Karley Sanders, Mobile (Ala.)
Player of the Year: Margaret Simmons, Middle Georgia State
Coach of the Year: Alison Cook, Mobile (Ala.)
Sportsmanship Award: Faulkner (Ala.)

The Lady Wildcats are the No. 7 seed and will play No. 2 seed Faulkner Thursday, May 3 at noon.
The teams split their two games in Montgomery. Faulkner won both games in McKenzie.
