MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel University Softball program signed Brighton High School's Amanda Perry recently. She is the daughter of John and Kim Perry of Atoka, Tennessee and will major in Biology.
The second baseman/outfielder/ utility player is an all-district performer at BHS. She also has travel ball experience with several teams around West Tennessee. One of those teams was Impact. Bethel Coach John Weeks operated Impact Sports Academy in Henderson specializing in softball at multiple age levels.
At Brighton High she is a member of the National Honor Society, FFA and HOSA.
Currently she is hitting .542 on the season. She has a career batting average of almost .500.
She has helped lead BHS to three district titles, three region championships and two trips to the TSSAA State Tournament.
She feels her biggest strength is her arm strength.
Amanda is the sister of former Bethel baseball standout pitcher Garrett Perry who graduated in 2015.
Coach Weeks stated, "We are happy to sign Amanda. She is a talented and smart player who has great passion for the sport. We look forward to watching her develop at the collegiate level."
