MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats dropped a doubleheader to the visiting Blue Mountain Lady Toppers Tuesday afternoon in McKenzie.
BMC won game one 8-0 in five innings. The Lady Toppers won game two 3-2.
In game one the Toppers scored all of their runs in the top of the third. They sent 15 hitters to the plate and had eight hits in the inning. They outhit Bethel 12-2 in the game. Montana Smith was the winning hurler while Casey Wade took the loss for Bethel.
In game two the Lady Cats led 1-0 after Lexee Miller drove in a run in the bottom of the first. The game remained that way until Blue Mountain rallied with three runs in the top of the seventh. Bethel fought back with a run in the bottom of the inning on an RBI by Ciara Aragon but fell short leaving the tying run in scoring position. BMC outhit Bethel 7-3 as Paige Taylor picked up the win. Billie Douglas was masterful much of the game but was charged with the loss.
Bethel is 13-31 overall and 7-17 in the SSAC. Blue Mountain is 19-18 and 12-10.
The Lady Wildcats begin a six game road trip traveling to No. 7 Mobile Friday.
