MCKENZIE, TENN. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats scored a lone goal in the first half and outlasted Campbellsville University Friday evening extending their season-opening winning streak to seven in a row. It is the best start since 2002.
Bethel's defense remained impeccable with their fifth shutout of the season. Bethel outshot Campbellsville 10-7 overall and had a 5-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Janine Dennis scored just eight minutes into the opening half for Bethel on an assist from Marina Hamer.
While Bethel remained unbeaten the Lady Tigers fell to 2-5 on the year.
Bethel's will be in action on the road against Lindenwood-Belleville on September 20th at 5 P.M. They will return home to open SSAC play against Middle Georgia State on October 5th at 5 P.M.
