TEXARKANA, TX – The Lady Wildcats made it two straight wins to open their season by beating Wiley College Saturday 1-0. The victory comes on the heels of their 2-1 win over Texas A & M Texarkana Friday.
Jodi Butler (FR/Gadsden, TN) and Cara Cook (FR/Hannibal, MO) scored Bethel's goals Friday.
Saturday is was a penalty kick goal by Natani Tomlinson-Traill (SR/Kingston, Jamaica) which proved to be the game winner.
Coach Misty Aird commented, "Our defense was really good for the second straight day. We limited them to just four shots. It was a tough physical game as we sent two players to the hospital, one with head injury and one a sprained hand. The new players stepped up big and the freshman played with heart and determination this weekend. Our seniors played big and their leadership was unmatched."
