MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Lady Wildcats ran their record to 12-8 with a doubleheader sweep of Stillman College Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Park. The games marked the first home games for Bethel since March 2nd. Bethel won 15-1 and 9-8 in eight innings. Stillman fell to 3-12.
In game one the Lady Cats pounded out 16 hits with seven different players driving in runs. Alex Turner, Caylee Crews, Iesha Kizer, Bailey Moore and Dominque Todd each drove in two runs. Kayla Guthrie, Emmi Thurmond and Casey Wade each drove in a single run. Bailey Moore picked up the win while Stillman's Haleigh Junkin suffered the loss. Bethel had an 11-run third inning.
Game two was a wild affair with both squads battling back and forth in the game. Turner's two-run double in the bottom of the eighth proved to be the game winner. She had four RBI's in the game. Mady Kate Gantt drove in three runs while Kizer drove in two runners. The three teamed up for nine of Bethel's 12 hits. Stillman finished with 10 hits in the game. Wade picked up the win while Lauren Averette suffered the loss for the Tigers.
Bethel returns to action Wednesday traveling to Martin Methodist for a SSAC doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
