MCKENZIE, Tenn. – On the strength of a seven run third inning in game two of their doubleheader with Missouri Baptist Saturday at Wildcat Park the Bethel Lady Wildcats earned a split in their twin-bill winning 9-1. MBU had won game one earlier in the day 2-1.
Bethel moved to 5-3 on the early season while MBU left McKenzie at 1-3.
Mady Kate Gantt drove in Bethel's only run in game one. Brooke Baucum gave up only one earned run but suffered the loss for the Lady Cats.
In game two Gantt drove in another run but it was Iesha Kizer who had the hot bat driving in three teammates. Kelly Jordan had two RBI's. Sydney Huff contributed driving home a runner as well. The Lady Wildcats rapped out nine hits in the contest. Casey Wade was the winner.
The Lady Wildcats travel to Cumberland University for a doubleheader Wednesday beginning at 1 p.m.
