Volley Cats Drop Home Match to Cumberland University
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats hoped to continue their winning ways Friday night hosting Cumberland University in a MSC match-up. In four tight sets the visitors from Lebanon prevailed however winning 3-1.
The Phoenix won 25-19, 23-25, 25-19 and 25-21.
Bethel dropped to 9-3 and 1-1 in conference action. Cumberland improved to 13-8 and 2-0.
It was the 37th meeting between the two programs. CU leads the series 20-17.
Sami Parker (23) and Gabriela Dominguez (17) led the Cats in digs. Alexa McLauren had 11 kills. Setareh Valibeygi had 22 assists while Mackenzie McCammon followed with 14 dimes.
Bethel remains in league play with a visit to Lindsey Wilson Friday, September 27th to battle the Blue Raiders. It will be the 23rd meeting between the two programs with LWC holding an 18-4 advantage in the series.
