Volley Cats Lose Home Opener
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats lost their home opener Tuesday falling to Fisk University 3-0.
Bethel trailed 19-11 in set one but battled back to pull to within 20-18. Fisk rallied and won 25-21.
The Lady Wildcats trailed 18-12 in set two but fought back to take a 22-21 lead, The Bulldogs would not be denied however and won 25-23.
Both teams battled in the third, but Fisk took another close set, winning 25-21.
Highlighting Bethel's play was 13 kills by Dominika Skoneczna and 19 digs by Sami Parker.
Bethel dropped to 1-1 while Fisk snapped a five-game losing skid and moved to 2-7 on the season.
Bethel hits the road for four games Friday and Saturday in the Brescia Classic in Owensboro, Kentucky.
The Cats face Oakland City Friday at 3 p.m. and then USHP at 7 p.m.
Bethel wraps up weekend playing meeting Wilberforce Saturday at 1 p.m. and Brescia at 5 p.m.
