Volley Cats Fall in Five Sets to TMU
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Two hot teams met in another key MSC match-up Saturday afternoon in Crisp Arena. The Bethel Lady Wildcats entered play winners of four of their last five while Thomas More traveled to McKenzie taking six of their last seven.
In a marathon first set the Lady Cats prevailed winning 31-29. The Saints fought back to take set two, 25-22. Thomas More won set three, 25-19. Bethel dominated set four, winning 25-13. The Saints won the match 3-2, taking the fifth set 15-10.
Bethel's Hannah McGowan had 27 kills and 12 digs. Nayeli Vilchez finished with 42 assists and 14 digs. Ashely Sommerfeld and Dominika Skoneczna both had 10 kills. Sami Parker had 18 digs.
Bethel dropped to 12-5 and 2-4 in the league. TMU moved to 12-7 and 6-0.
The Lady Cats remain at home playing host to Fisk University Tuesday at 7 p.m.
