Volleyball Wins at Lindsey Wilson

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats returned to their winning ways Saturday beating Lindsey Wilson 3-2 in Columbia, Kentucky. Bethel won 25-20, 21-25, 12-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Bethel had dropped two matches in a row after a heartbreaking five set loss at Campbellsville Tuesday night.

The Cats improved to 9-3 overall and 1-2 in MSC league action.

Lindsey Wilson dropped to 6-8 and 2-2.

In the final decisive set Bethel trailed 8-7 but battled back to win 15-12.

Hannah McGowan had 26 kills to lead the Cats. Ashley Sommerfeld followed with 13 kills. Sami Parker had 19 digs while Madelyn Woods finished with 14 digs. Nayeli Vilchez had a game high 47 assists and also contributed with 12 digs.

Coach Starla Cupples was happy with the effort and win. "We are really proud of our fight today. Several players stepped up to make things happen under pressure. We focused on minimizing our mistakes which paid off. We look forward to getting back home Tuesday and meeting UT Southern." 

The Cats are back in action Tuesday hosting UT Southern at 7 p.m.
